I live in Northern Virginia just outside Washington, DC, with my husband and children. They keep me pretty busy, but in my “free time” I write, read, teach karate, make jewelry, and bake. I primarily write fantasy. You can find a few random facts about me here.
I’ve been reading fantasy as long as I can remember. I read The Chronicles of Narnia and my dad’s tattered copies of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings in middle school. I fell in love with the classics – The Count of Monte Cristo, A Tale of Two Cities, Much Ado about Nothing, White Fang, Les Miserables, Robinson Crusoe, and The Scarlet Pimpernel. I love adventure, survival, fierce love, and redemption arcs. I love heroes who are worth emulating and villains who realize the error of their ways and strive to live out repentance. I love settings that are so vivid, so full of wonder and beauty, that you see the real world with a little more love and compassion. And I love books that remind us that with all our flaws, we are made in the image of a God who loves us and died to redeem us. We are all in desperate need of a Savior, and none of us are beyond His reach.
