Eleria is a windswept little nation on the edge of the northern sea, where legends of Mer Folk are not entirely forgotten.
Some years ago, the king was badly injured at sea in a sudden storm, and now his daughter, Princess Marin de Gracey, must withstand the storms that threaten her nation.
Fortunately, Marin isn’t alone as she faces threats from all sides. Her people adore her. Her cousin Captain Derek Brighton is the brave and loyal captain of the palace guard. And Kaerius, cocky young Mer prince, has fallen madly in love with her.
Kaerius bargains his voice to the Lord of the Deep, the enormous kraken that even the Mer king fears, for legs and lungs to court Marin on land. But he discovers that not only is being human harder than he thought, Marin has concerns more urgent than how beautiful he is!
